Armstrong Manor Farm hosts OFA Field Day

Armstrong Manor Farm hosts OFA Field Day

On Thursday, August 22, 2013, Armstrong Manor Farm was pleased to host the Ontario Federation of Agriculture’s Field Day. Politicians from across the province were invited to attend this event and learn about various facets of agriculture – dairy, grains, eggs and poultry, bee keeping to name a few.  Guests were invited to check out our dairy barn and to watch the afternoon milking from the parlour’s observation deck.  They were also able to check out some of our large machines used on the farm.

Representatives from the various commodity groups were available to answer any questions regarding their commodity. I know that I learned quite a bit about bees and how the hive works. I also found out some interesting facts about layer hens and poultry facilities.  This day was definitely educational for the hosts as well.
